This recipe is one of my favorite home made vegan pesto sauce. Pesto sauce is originated in northern Italy and traditionally it consist a cheese which is none vegan. The fact l really like the test of Pesto sauce I decided to make vegan version of it so i can enjoy it with out testing the dairy. It’s very easy, simple and unbelievably delicious.
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 2 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
- Handful basil leaves
- 1 lemon or lime
- 1/4 sunflower seeds
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Add sunflower seeds and walnuts in a food processor until finely chopped. Add the garlic and blend few more times. Add the rest of the ingredients and you can add olive oil if needed depend on the consistency . Pesto is ready you can serve it with fresh veggies as dip, spread on your favorites bread or it can be served with a pasta. I hope you give it a try and don’t forget to leave a comment.
